That"s another story
We use this expression to say that we have more information about a new topic, but that we are not going to say what it is.
我們通常在對(duì)一個(gè)新話(huà)題有更多的信息，但我們不打算說(shuō)它是什么的時(shí)候使用這個(gè)說(shuō)法。
它的意思就是：我知道某事的某個(gè)細(xì)節(jié)或者其它角度、其它方面，說(shuō)這個(gè)事又順嘴提一下另外一件事，但我們又不會(huì)在這個(gè)時(shí)候繼續(xù)深挖這個(gè)新話(huà)題，通常是因?yàn)闆](méi)有時(shí)間，然后就說(shuō) that"s another story=那是另外一碼事了、那就另當(dāng)別論了、這個(gè)故事改天再說(shuō)。
- You have to finish the painting
你得把這幅畫(huà)畫(huà)完。
- Even if I wanted to, I can"t. But if you got some cash on you, that"s another story.
即使我想，也辦不到。但如果你身上有現(xiàn)金，那就另當(dāng)別論。
